This selection, part of an ongoing exploration of pattern and line, began with a series of gouache on paper works exhibited in 2006 at Galeria ArtFit, Lisbon. The compositions weave individual narratives within a larger tapestry—sometimes they harmonise seamlessly, merging into a singular organism full of life and energy, other times they appear as distinct entities engaged in a silent struggle for dominance, each claiming its own territory on the paper. Although the stylised motifs may not be immediately recognisable, they are deeply rooted in my life and environment, central to my practice.
